Clock Watching? 20/20

I was hooked on Big Hero 6 from start to finish. It might seem similar to a lot of other superhero tales, but Big Hero 6 blazes its own path while executing all of its tropes to near perfection. The action beats keep coming, the film is endlessly funny and all of the characters are a blast to be around. Big Hero 6 is about as entertaining as it gets.

Oscar Performances? 16/20

The whole voice cast does solid work across the board, but it is Scott Adsit who transcends as the voice of everyone’s new favorite robot, Baymax. Hilarious, full of heart and able to show off a ton of emotion with a monotone delivery, Adsit makes Baymax come to life. TJ Miller is great as the non-scientist of group and provides a ton of the human laughs in the film.

Lights, Camera, Direction? 19/20

Big Hero 6 can stand up to the best of the computer animated films out there and is full color and imagination as we run around San Fransokyo. All of the other technical pieces fall into place as well, with some excellent and fun writing as well as some great editing that keeps everything moving right along at a brisk pace. The visuals and imagination of the film are inspiring as well and I can’t wait to see what a sequel looks like whenever they get around to that.

Tell a Friend? 19/20

Big Hero 6 is an easy recommendation to just about anyone. If you hate superhero movies I still think Baymax can win you over, the only people that I think might not enjoy the movie are those who can’t watch animation and take it seriously, because animation is so less real than a live action movie!

Again? 20/20

Big Hero 6 is a first-day-buy on Blu-ray and I will probably sneak out to the theater at least one more time to see it as well. Baymax is the big reason the movie is so rewatchable, but the whole team is a lot of fun and the action is well worth a watching again as well.

Total: 94%

One of the stand out animations of the year; a must watch for all.
