Mark Wahlberg, Marky Mark or Monk D, whatever you like to call him, the man has had a full career. In his youth he ran into a lot of trouble with the law and even was sentenced for two years in prison for assault, although he only served 45 days of the sentence.
It was music that gave him an outlet. Wahlberg's brother Donnie was a member of the original New Kids on the Block and this might have helped Mark start recording as Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. In 1991, Marky Mark's first single 'Good Vibrations' was released and topped the singles chart in the US.
Two years later, Wahlberg starting his acting career. He made his film debut in The Substitute in 1993 and has, since then, starred in 32 feature films. As you know, I like to make lists as I feel that they are a vivid, visual way to look at the world of cinema, so I have made a list of the top 10 films featuring Mark Wahlberg, using the average score of the ratings from Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic and IMDB. I think from this list that we can determine that Mark Wahlberg has starred in some very good movies, the top 4 have scored pretty highly. However, there is a big jump from no.5 to no.4, so it might be fair to say that there is a large mixture of movies that Wahlberg has behind him. He has many films in production, and they seem to prove the mix of films that Wahlberg stars in. Let's hope there are a couple more films that are as good as The Fighter, Boogie Nights and The Departed. Word, Marky Mark!
